How Z Power works
Collect 100 of a character’s Z Power to unlock them. Collect more and they Limit Break, gaining a ★ each time, up to ★7, then red stars from ★1+ to ★6+, and finally rainbow stars at ★7+ (see Stars, Limit Break and Zenkai). Free Z Power lets you unlock a character and make them stronger without summoning.
A character can hold up to 9,999 Z Power. Once they’re at the top Limit Break, more Z Power turns into Z Medals (Z Power from certain summons turns into Z2 Medals instead). Z Power for event-exclusive characters, the ones whose card number starts with DBL-EVT, is never converted.
Shallot
Shallot grows as you play the Main Story. These stages give his Z Power:
| Stage | Z Power |
|---|---|
| Part 1 Book 4 Chapter 3 (NORMAL) | 100 |
| Part 1 Book 5 Chapter 8 (HARD) | 200 |
| Part 2 Book 7 Chapter 11 (NORMAL) | 300 |
| Part 2 Book 7 Chapter 11 (HARD) | 100 |
| Part 3 Book 7 Chapter 3 (NORMAL) | 700 |
| Part 4 Book 5 Chapter 8 (NORMAL) | 300 |
| Part 6 Book 3 Chapter 10 (NORMAL) | 300 |
| Part 7 Book 7 Chapter 6 (NORMAL) | 100 |
| Part 7 Book 7 Chapter 8 (NORMAL) | 200 |
| All Challenges of Part 9 Book 5 Chapter 2 (NORMAL) | 100 |
| All Challenges of Part 9 Book 5 Chapter 3 (NORMAL) | 100 |
| All Challenges of Part 9 Book 5 Chapter 4 (NORMAL) | 100 |
| All Challenges of Part 9 Book 5 Chapter 6 (NORMAL) | 100 |
| All Challenges of Part 9 Book 5 Chapter 7 (NORMAL) | 200 |
Once you finish the Beginner Missions, two more mission sets open:
- Shallot Upgrade Missions walk you through powering Shallot up, and pay out rewards such as Chrono Crystals and SP Guaranteed Summon Tickets. One of the rewards is equipment that only Shallot can wear, and it’s guaranteed to reach 神 (Godly) rank when you upgrade it.
- Shallot Upgrade Missions: The Path to Evolution unlock Shallot’s transformations as you clear Main Story stages, all the way to Super Saiyan God.
Shallot also learns new Special Moves as his Friendship rises with other characters. The daily Let’s Fight! event is a good source of Friendship Points (see Your First Party).
Game Originals characters
Complete the permanent Game Originals Character Missions to earn Z Power for characters created for Legends.
The missions ask you to clear certain Main Story chapters or win battles with certain characters, and some only unlock once you meet a condition. For the rest of their Z Power, trade Z2 Medals in the Z2 Medal Exchange Shop. Earn a special Title for each character by winning battles with them repeatedly or Limit Breaking them to ★7+.
All four are “Episode: Game Originals”, and their Z Abilities boost Game Originals characters (Giblet’s from ★3), so they work as a team.
Events you can play any time
These permanent events and missions give you characters or Z Power:
- Let’s Go, Legends! gives three full parties of six through its Start Dash Missions. Your First Party goes through it step by step.
- Long Ago…There Was a Small Encounter gives event-exclusive SPARKING characters.
- The original series stories (Raditz Attacks!, Nappa the Cruel!, Fierce Battle! Vegeta the Prince of Fate, The Dreaded Ginyu Force, and The Advent of Frieza, the Universal Emperor!) retell the anime and pay out rewards such as Z Power.
- Intermediate Missions, after Let’s Go, Legends!, give more “Tag: Saiyan” characters.
Star Tickets and Multi-Z Power
Star Tickets trade for Z Power of certain LEGENDS LIMITED characters in the Exchange Shop. The lineup and the number of tickets needed are listed there, and the lineup can change.
Use Multi-Z Power from Menu > Item > Multi-Z Power to add Z Power to a character that meets the item’s conditions. One steady source is LEGENDS WEEKEND, every Saturday 15:00 to Tuesday 15:00 (Japan time). On those three days the Daily Missions also pay Great Weekend Medals, which trade for Multi-Z Power usable on LEGENDS LIMITED and SPARKING characters, SP Guaranteed Summon Tickets and more.
