After continuously suffering defeat at the hands of Rayas and his friends, Grad will do anything to win. Cooperating with Nier and using the power of the Iris copies, Grad is ultimately destroyed by a half-awakened Rayas. He fought under Giaveil against the Gods during the Great War, where he lost his left eye. He was later awarded a special replacement as honor for defeating a God army commander without it.
